An Umbrian pastry for the carnival season.

6 eggs

6 tablespoons sugar

6 tablespoons oil

half a lemon and half an orange grated

1 sachet of yeastg

150 Mistrà liqueur

honey or icing sugar and Alchermes liqueur for garnishing.

Mix all the ingredients together, adding flour until a dough is formed, but not too stiff.  Shape the dough into large dumplings and fry them in plenty of boiling oil.Drain and cover with honey or icing sugar and splash with Alchermes liqueur.
