The Nera River Park is a protected area of about 2,200 hectares of considerable environmental value, located in the municipality of Terni, which includes part of the Valnerina valley, from Ferentillo and the Marmore Waterfalls, including the Velino and Nera rivers.  This area has a dramatic, naturalistic impact. Within it, there is a wealth of water sources and vegetation, consisting of hardwood forests, Mediterranean scrub and, of course, typical riverside vegetation on which flowers and ferns stand out. There is also valuable wildlife, with numerous species of birds of prey, like the Kestrel and the Short-toed Snake Eagle.

The Park’s municipalities are: Arrone, Ferentillo, Montefranco, Polino and Terni.
